The cooler weather might be moving in, but that doesn't mean your yard foliage and colors have to disappear right away.

Try these fall-proof flowers to keep your curb appeal strong this season:

You can also opt for more foliage-forward plants, like witch hazel, croton, and flowering kale. If you're looking to plant produce, focus on hardy ones like beets, broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower.

Just be sure to plant early on in the season, and if a frost is expected, cover your plants with a light blanket for extra protection.

  1. Shop around for quotes. Moving companies vary greatly in fees. Get at least three quotes to ensure you're getting the best deal.
  2. Donate and purge first. Clear out your closets and donate or throw away anything you're not using. Don't waste cash moving items you don't need.
  3. Move on a weekday toward the end of the month. Movers are busiest on the weekend and at the start of the month. That's when they're most expensive, too.
You can also save money by moving in winter. That's when demand for movers is at its lowest.

When you're selling your home, staging might seem like just another added cost. But according to data, it might actually be worth it.

In fact, according to data from the National Association of Realtors:
  • Staged homes sell 88% faster than homes that are not staged.
  • They also sell for more money (20% more, to be exact).
  • A whopping 83% of real estate agents also say staging helps buyers better visualize a property as their future home.
If you're going to stage just one room, agents say to focus on the living area first. After that, the master and the kitchen are next in line, in terms of importance.
